BOOK REVIEW: The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan, The Heroes of Olympus #2

The Son of Neptune (The Heroes of Olympus, #2)The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Aha! The ever so popular and famous Percy Jackson reappears, but this time, at the camp Jason was originally from! Having not read the previous series, I didn't know much about Percy Jackson besides the fact that he was strong and popular amongst the gods and other demigods, but I knew he was important.

In the first installment of this series, Jason ends up at the Greek camp and he keeps hearing about this Percy Jackson guy and that he's gone missing, only to find out, Percy ends up at Jason's Roman camp.
Percy teams up with a couple of your not so 'typical' heroes and they venture on to fight the monsters coming out of the earth and to stop Gaea, the mother of the earth. They have to look death in the eye and know this is only the beginning of their journey.

We are left in anticipation at the end of the book with the two leaders, Jason and Percy, and their teams and their future encounter.

I probably wouldn't read this book as a standalone, so if you did start the first book of this series, definitely keep reading onto this one!
